Is Failure an Inherent Part of Research?

Roxanne Jones: I think one of the compliments to taking the long view o that we've done over the years is feeling the freedom to tackle really difficult problems. And i think also we want to have the ability to make a few mistakes along the way, just as we have historically when we've had many, many other things in the past along that way. The key is just to make sure that you fail in ways where you solt fail upwards and forward and learn something from it. But it takes a lot of discipline. It's a tricky thing to do,. That's why people go to graduate schooland an trained for years to learn how to do this.
