The Russians' Strategy of Slowing Things Down
If you stand back a bit, there's much to encourage the Ukrainians. The Russians are using their best units in the initial fighting. It's important to remember that although they have huge manpower reserves, the stock of well-trained troops is dwindling. They are also burning through their air capabilities. Although they have a considerable advantage in the air at the moment, their dominance is finite and maybe lost when, at long last, the West finally get F-16 fast jets.
