A central bank digital currency would give the average joe an account at the fed, just like j p morgan has a on th account with the fed. The Fed could print additional dollars and then go to them to create additional bandages for stimulus checks. That sounds great but here's the catch: They can take it away as soon as they get rid of all that money.
