The Crandal Canyon Mine Collapse

In 2008, the mine safety and health administration concluded that because of flawed engineering analysis and failure to report early warning signs, the Crandal Canyon mine was destined to fail. Today there are memorials dedicated to the six miners and three rescue workers that lost their lives in the Crandall Canyon mine. They serve as reminders of the sacrifices that blue collar workers make every day to feed their families. The entire disaster could have and should have been avoided. And that's not something that a grieving widow or fatherless child will ever be comfortable with.
