The Importance of Understanding the Mushroom

When I started the project, as I just admitted, I was interested in commodity chains and it took me a very short time to learn to love the mushroom for itself. The whole part of the book that's about how mushrooms live and how people appreciate them came out of the research itself. So I learned a lot from that research. And it's such a hopeful book or it gave me hope. But in a way, it's terrifying to live in a world where we don't know where we're going. That's quite frightening, even though there's pleasures along that journey too.
