Both towers contain 40,000 metric tons of steel and 220 meters high. Both were prefabricated in sections and shipped all the way from the east coast of the US down through the Panama Canal up the Pacific to San Francisco. They use this kind of wheeled carriage contraption thing to send wires back and forth over the bridge and tie them into anchorages at each end. That's 80,000 miles right of wires. The circumference of the globe is 24,000 miles.
