Barbie's Arc Should Be
I wanted my filmmaking to be able to rise to the occasion of the artists and who made it. I was thinking about this too as a contrast to the previous films. Lady Bird and Joe from Little Women are such whip smart, outwardly confident, you know, leads women. And Barbie is a nape. You know, she's unsure of herself and going through crisis. The other two characters do have a crisis, but they deflect and they fight. And Barbie's going through something different.
