Tarmen: How did you get into this niche of nutritional psychiatry which you essentially carved out and hopefully will start a trend with? Tarmen: When I was in medical school I hadn't thought about the connection between food and the brain. And as a woman who had trouble managing her own weight since it's from a very young age probably from the age of seven or eight, I only thought about food as a way to control my weight. She says one in six Americans take psychiatric medications; we're not talking about food addicts here.
