The Importance of Silence in the Film
The film is shot in a very special way and that visual style opened up for like being quite crazy with how we mixed the sound. We're doing all kinds of weird distorted things with the sound. For all of her movements in the film, there's this classic trick of using a lot of vegetables. If you crack a celery, it sounds really like bone crunching... I wanted this feel of her insides like her internal organs even had been moved around by being possessed.
