Antibiotic Inertia and Stewardship

antibiotic inertia is the concept that basically once someone makes a decision it's a lot harder to then change that decision whether it be discontinue inappropriate therapy or deescalate excessively broad coverage. Dewey: Another area of huge importance for stewardship intervention is going to be antibiotic utilization at the time of hospital discharge and transitions of care. There was a wonderful workshop on this on Thursday that I unfortunately had to miss because I was still in clinic in Baltimore but hopefully some of this is not new information to this audience if you were able to go.
