Hermes and the Christ Consciousness
Hermes is often alchemically described as the divine child or the Androgenous child. In the Renaissance, Hermes was seen as a prophet of Christ and sometimes living at the same time as Moses. So he was accepted in the Renaissance for that reason. Then he got caught and vilified. He was fine with Greek Orthodox theology but very influential to Greek Orthodox.
