The Performance Story of Laravel

I'm in that early honeymoon phase where I just love everything about this, everything I'm seeing about Laravel. But on a technical basis, yes, it is slower, which means you're going to pay a little bit more the language itself. Is there other downsides I'm overlooking? Like people who are really big into type safety. The diversity thing show up in some places. So for me, I hate class-based things like Mollie or having doing by classes and passing them around. If I shift my background to the Laravel world, if I can't do as much functional stuff as much with TypeScript we'll be fine.
