The Differences Between a Home Birth and a Hospital Birth
I really think of a birth center as a sort of midpoint between a home birth and a hospital birth. Birth centers don't do surgery, so they're not performing C-sections. They rely on other forms of what's called non-pharmacological pain relief. So that might be something like a birth tub, because water can be soothing. Some birth centers have nitrous, which can provide temporary pain relief.
