Is Ex Machina a Manifestation of Consciousness?
In some respects, Ex Machina took as a premise, how do you assess whether something else has consciousness? So it was a version of the Turing test, except instead of having the machine hidden, you put the machine in plain sight. And so it was actually about how much of the sense of consciousness is a projection rather than something that consciousness is actually containing. But there's questions of consciousness embodiment and also the same kinds of questions. Those are my two favorite AI movies.
