You're Never Going to Get to a Mastery Level in a Language

You're never going to get to a mastery type level in a language if you don't have a serious interest in it. There's nothing wrong with having a sort of a middling level, like a good touristy level as a goal. And then you can get obsessed with it afterwards. It doesn't doesn't anyone assert a master in language because they start out of the idea of it would be nice.
