Augustine's City of God is a history of the world up to the coming of Christ. It focuses on the ancient roots of his two central cities, which are Cain and Abel and The Nephilim. Augustine also has much to say about the biblical flood. On the subject of divine mating with human females, he says it probably happened after Hesiod's time.
