An aero space engineer named marion rudy came up with the idea of using air to provide cushioning in running shoes. But there was a problem: you couldn't acturally see this innovation in action. The shoe companies kept turning him down, until he got to nike - which at the time just served runners. And so but the nike really started to take off m they had this seminol shoe, the the a, the air max on. Those shoes were one of the first models that actually displayed the air.
