I'd be quite careful not to impose my values, but definitely, you know, instinctively, I think, God, that's not a world that I would like to live in. The people who are on it don't actually really enjoy eating anymore. So you lose that sense of eating for pleasure and enjoyment as well as to get your nutrients. And I think that that's in the long term is rather sad because I think it's one of the aspects that people do enjoy. It's also depressing, isn't it, that sense that you're not going to enjoy food anymore.
Food Campaigner Henry Dimbleby is co-founder of LEON and recently quit his role as the government’s food tsar over its inaction over obesity. His recent book, Ravenous: How To Get Ourselves And Our Planet Into Shape, looks at the global food system that has resulted in 28% of people now being clinically obese in the UK alone and diet-related disease now being the biggest cause of preventable illness and death in the developed world.
