Schopenhauer argues each man could very well be his own platonic idea. Each individual man may be regarded as a special idea corresponding to a special act of the objectification of will. The more particular and contrived desires dictate, the higher gradations or patterns in which the manifested will takes shape. People can be aimed at ends ar goals which are mutually exclusive and incompatible with one another.
