The Problem of Population Explosion in India

Fears of a population explosion in India have been around for decades. The most obvious answer to controlling population growth is contraception. In 1975, the Prime Minister, Indira Gandhi declared a state of emergency across the country. During that time, elections were suspended and civil rights were curbed. A BBC reporter found several witnesses who claimed it had happened. He says he was promised land if he got sterilised. Can you ask whether he was given any land?
