Do You Have Any Advice on Friendships With Your Xes?
Gloria Borger: I have a couple of girl friends that always continue or want to have friendships with their xes, which bringing that into a new relationship can be detrimental. She recommends something called the state of the union address where you rate your marriage on a scale of one to ten and then unpack what that number means. "I think that a big important thing is realizing, if whatever it is, the job or the hobby, is creating a problem," she says.
