The committee believed that Harvard should be in the business of teaching literature, not helping students learn how to write. They created a new class called english a which will have to be taught by the least powerful people because who would want to teach a remedial composition class? And i guess what we'll do there is fix the most broken of the writers. Everyone else can just go ahead and go into the other classes. The problem is schools often treat it not as a starting point, but as the end goal itself.
