The Role of Structure in Oppositional Defiant Disorder
There's no sure proven cause, but there are a lot of theories that can help identify potential causes. One theory suggests that oppositional defiant disorder can begin to develop when children are toddlers. A lack of structure or parenting supervision, inconsistent discipline practices, exposure to abuse and community violence have also been identified as factors which contribute to ODD.
