Queuing Bands: A Good Idea
The goal is to get rid of the idea that kids don't need to learn how to sound out written words because they have other strategies they can use instead. And a lot of bills, I will say, legislators seem to get that there's a lot more than just phonics. You're seeing new legislation say we need to teach background knowledge. We need to really have an emphasis on oral language. These things were part of the research all along but not maybe been part of the conversation when it was just about are we teaching phonics or not.
