Is Diabetic Nephropathy a Good Selection Criteria?
A lot of the rare sedubition trials have been in diabetic nephropathy. They needed to include both diabetic and non-diabeticnephropathy, he says. Patients with diabetes often have progressive CKD; they didn't need to use proteinuria as a surrogate for that. The power depends on whether patients' GFR is stable or if there are any events at all after starting dialysis.
