Does Mouth Washing With Carbohydrate Solution Really Trick Your Brain?

A study found that simply swishing your mouth with some sports drink fools the brain into thinking that more carbohydrates are on the way. In a longer race and by longer we'll say longer than 90 minutes, so probably half marathon or longer, that doesn't really hold true because you actually start to deplete the glucose stores. And so you need that actual carbohydrate because it might be a quick, you might get like a little bump from it,. But it won't be long lasting and then you'll just kind of tank.
