Do We Need Anaerobic Coverage for an Intra-Abdominal Infection?

A low-risk patient with a community acquired intra-abdominal infection doesn't need to escalate or deescalate these patients. They should already be on a fairly good empiric regimen covering the usual suspects, right? So if they're already on a fairly simple regimen, and I would argue that something like Peptazo in this situation is pretty simple, you're probably good. But again, that notion of source control is where things get a little bit sticky because we don't always have the benefit of getting great source control.
