The Raise of Lazarus Is a Crucifixion of the Risen Christ
The raising of lazarus will set a ball rolling that ultimately leads to christ's crucifixion and to his own resurrection. The illness is rather there to be a means by which jesus is gloriy. Jesus delay and absence from the scene is an important part of the story. When reading scripture, we can often see literary structures and parallels that help us to understand deeper meanings.
