Felix's unwillingness to kill john is similar to that of felix. He doesn't want to doy bad to him, but his fear gets in the way. Paul was imprisoned for two years before he could be tried by a Jewish tribunal. The trial took place at Jerusalem and Festus sent paul there with men who were planning an ambush against him on the way.
