Infected Endocarditis - Duration of Therapy

The shorter is better trend has taken the world by storm. How does that fit within infected endocarditis? We've already alluded to the fact that not all patients are going to require six weeks of therapy, but how do we work through that for our patients? I can start here with something that again was already highlighted earlier about two week courses of treatment and uncomplicated right-sided endocarditis due to MSSA. There's at least three small randomized controlled trials done in the late 80s to early 2000s that had pretty high cure rates in the 90 plus percent range.
