The Carthaginian Army Was a Mercenary Army

Until recently war meant booty war men you could enrich yourself or move up socially and economically. Now when you serve actually you end up on the streets at a VA hospital or a homeless but if you're feeding into the war machine yeah you're in a McMansion right now toasting the next war so that's true for most cultures until recently.
