The ATF is a small agency, only 2,000 agents. They didn't hire a lot very hard to get into in the 90s. So when it finally opened up in 97, I was in Puerto Rico on a fugitive task force. And I put in and I was able to get the job. The first day he says, you want to work undercover? I said, yep,. He goes, all right, you're going to do a deal today."
