The Identity of Identity Politics

The notion of intersectionality is a valuable contribution to look at the different ways in which structures of oppression intersect. Hider has pointed this out, and others have besides, but Hider's book is particularly good in looking at the way in which it has turned identity politics into something that has been taken over by neoliberalism. You saw that in 2016 with Hillary Clinton and her own use of the term intersectional. And you see it now with the current vice president of the United States, Kamala Harris.
