What's Going on in the NHS?
Up to 500 people are dying every week because of delays, says Royal College of Emergency Medicine. The NHS has not had the money it needs and developed a ever bigger shortage of staff - which is affecting key areas of care. Over 10 or 11 years since about 2015 everything has got worse: financial situation, particularly staffing situation,. As an inevitable result, waiting times for care have increased in recent years. In some cases, cripplingkey areas of care such as A&E were crippled by budget cuts that left patients unable to see their GP until after they'd already been seen at least three times. It's all part of this vicious cycle where we're seeing longer wait times with no end in sight
