How to Use Anticipation and Hope in a Dramatic Game
In the first episode, we meet a ship's captain who has this wall of collectible cat figurines. And what you're anticipating is that later there's going to be a telling moment where he shares why he collects them. Instead, full on spoiler, what happens is we just blow the entire ship up and we will never get the answer with all those cats. Just giving those little cat figurines humanizes that character in such a tiny but vital way that suddenly we care about this person.
