Alphabet's Closing Down of Loon
In january last year, alphabet announced that they were closing down loon. And in march last year, the whole thing came to a halt. So why did they shut it down? I mean, it's a business, is it's the short answer. In their statements at the time, they said that in the long term it wasn't financially sustainable. Alphabet kind of recognized that in that when they closed it down, they announced thy were giving ten million dollars to internet projects in rural africa. But they did invent a whole bunch of stuff make these balloons work. Some of the patents that they er got have gone to another company and some have been made open source.
