The Effects of Focus Ultrasound on Torpor

Mice can be induced into torpor with a flick of the brain switch. Researchers at Washington University used ultrasound to activate specific brain areas. They kept mice in torpor for up to 24 hours, which is longer than any other team has managed so far. The researchers also found that rats don't naturally go into torpor and may still have this brain switch.
