The jewish bondsman becomes the servant of some someone else. The maximum time that they can remain in servitude is for six years. Te tama really is about freedom, because tora is abject oneself simultaneously freeing oneself from any other master. If you're a servant of god, you cannot be a truly free person. And i think it's a good exercise to ask ourselves: Are we really free?
