Supernovas happen like a few every couple million stars and the Milky Way has several hundred billion stars right? So there should be you know thousands and thousands of them sprinkled all over the Milky Way potentially about to go off. We don't understand it and we did a whole podcast episode about the mystery of the missing Milky Way supernova. Check out that episode. Maybe it was Superman who pushed all those supernova away. Or maybe another superhero or superwoman. It's really fun to read this sort of historical record here of like Chinese astronomers talking about guest stars that appear in the night sky. Hilariously they describe them as some having pleasurable colors and others nothaving pleasurable colors
