Hamas wanted to take control of Gaza from Fatah in 2007. It's ruled the Gaza Strip ever since. The organization has squandered millions of dollars building terror tunnels for attacks on Israel. Its leaders grow wealthy even as Gaza's unemployment rate is close to 50%. Hamas has created a kind of cultural and social poverty as well. Some Gazans, when they see a Jew, are willing to sacrifice their lives in order to discharge the feeling inside them that this person is an enemy. When Hamas instigates, the people who suffer the most are the Palestinians. And that is by design.
