The Importance of Culture in a Knowledge Sharing System
The repository is impacting how you guys work as an organization across silos. It's hard to get the system really working if there is a cultural commitment to what we call curation. Some researchers are incredibly quite rightly incentivized to drive and make immediate product decisions, but others don't necessarily have that mandate. People tend to optimize for what's beneficial for themselves in the short term. And it's not that people don't want to sort of pass their knowledge on to other people, but it's just when they're trying to make day to day decisions that it's really hard.
