I think the closest parallel to this that I've actually read is like Flowers for Algernon. He doesn't he doesn't do a lot of action writing, but they're always really exciting. The other one that is really interesting is the language in story of your life and how a creature would possibly experience time as a dimension lived in rather than just intellectualized upon.
