The Life and Times of Magnus Hirschfeld

Hirschfeld studied at a number of universities before earning his MD in 1892. After completing his medical degree, Hirschfeld devoted himself to the study of sexuality and gender. His first written work on this subject came out that same year; it was titled Sapho and Socrates. The Scientific Humanitarian Committee was one of the first gay rights organizations in the world.
