The Artistic Freedom of a Poem

"I think freedom is an absolute good, a beautiful thing. But if it's given to us in an absolute form, it can be terrible," says the poet. "The blank page can be a terrible thing, knowing you have one thing to cling to." The poem uses 14 lines instead of traditional sonnet or metrical foot patterns. 'There's freedom in not having to choose from among infinite possibilities,' he adds.
