The Importance of Academic Language Acquisition for Students

Carmen and I wrote a book published by Rutledge in 2000 late 2002, 22 entitled bolstering vocabulary with teacher talk in the classroom. Our belief is when teachers expose their students to extensive vocabularies, they begin to build their students receptive and productive language. We feel it's important to stress this is not one more thing on teacher's plates. This is a mind shift.
