I think when I prior to Trump if you would have said to me authoritarianism the rise of fascism a descriptor that I would not have come back at you with so would be absurd or silly right and yet this is the truth. It's intentional Donald Trump made the country unserious he's a profoundly unserious character for whom tomorrow really doesn't matter it's just all about winning and today and ratings it doesn't care about death. The scenes with the forever men feel like maybe a precursor to that it carries some of that absurdity for me absolutely. Have there been any responses to this book that have surprised you there have been, says author who grew up in D.C.
