The YouTubers and social media people tend to misunderstand the difference between the audience and their audience. There might be a large number of people who are aware of you who are not part of your core audience. I think what people don't understand is that this has happened to me so many times. Just usually it's from the far right. And this time it was from like, you know, bored Twitter teens and YA authors.
