The transatlantic slave trade brought millions of people out of Africa against their will and deposited them all over the new world. Voodoo is considered to be a religion with its own core beliefs and leaders. The voodoo of Louisiana has its own distinct flavors thanks to what's called syncretism, its blending with practices from the Catholic Church.
