The Importance of Quality of Life in Catholic Healthcare
The Pontifical Council for pastoral assistance to healthcare workers, published most recently in 2016, speaks of the duty of healthcare workers to improve the quality of patients' lives. And a document by the CDF, the Congregation for the Doctrine of Faith, was put out in 2020, Sonaritano Sponus. This is a letter on end of life ethics. The ERDs speak about how the well-being of the whole person must be taken into account when considering benefits and burdens of treatments.
