Neurons Are a Good Symbol for the Brain

It appears that the conceptual construction of colors and shapes and motions has a fairly well-connected kind of architecture. There are what we call feed-forward pathways where it is sort of stimulus driven like from area v1 to area v2 to area v3. The back projections from v4 back to v3 and so forth are huge in many cases bigger than before. We look at the brain and see neurons but I'm for a much more sophisticated interpretation of what we're seeing there.
